Destination Ibiza

Ibiza is a part of an archipelago in the Western Mediterranean sea off the Spanish coast that is renowned for its virgin beaches and mild climate. Ibiza sees 300 days of sunshine each year, making it a tourist haven which has also landed it in the Guinness Book of Records as “the entertainment island of the world”. It is home to “Privilege nightclub”, its sprawling campus comprising of a large pool, multiple dance floors and fountains that can all together hold around 8000 guests, making it the biggest nightclub in the world. Its beautiful locations have beckoned films makers from around the globe namely, George Michael who filmed his song “Club Tropicana” at the Pike’s Hotel.

Apart from its palpating nightlife, spectacular beaches and the supplementary water sports, the Dalt Vila area in Ibiza has been declared as a UNESCO world heritage site. The cathedral, numerous monuments and cobble stoned streets give it an unique appeal far different from the other European cities. In Ibiza, the cathedral is strategically located such that all roads apparently lead to it. Ibiza is also a walled city which was so built to protect it from being besieged by pirates in the 1400s. Despite their age, the walls are surprisingly intact and decently conserved. The Archaeology Museum (known as Museo Arqueológic in their native tongue) is housed in a building that was used by the Ibiza government for almost 300 years and is currently displaying remarkable relics such as figurines, ceramics and coins. Apart from the summer months, Ibiza makes a quiet vacation spot for tourists that see frequent showers.
